{"id":1770,"date":"2017-07-18T03:12:58","date_gmt":"2017-07-18T03:12:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ladymacblog.com\/?p=1770"},"modified":"2017-09-25T04:39:01","modified_gmt":"2017-09-25T04:39:01","slug":"a-pause-in-the-pain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ladymacblog.com\/?p=1770","title":{"rendered":"A Pause in The Pain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am learning the difference between owning stress and stress owning you.\u00a0 <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Stress hits me hard physically\u00a0even when I am walking well spiritually.\u00a0 I used to try to deny this and in the end pay more\u00a0physically when practicing this dishonesty.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The\u00a0weight of\u00a0stress sneaks up and one doesn&#8217;t always realize how they have been walking\u00a0painfully under it until there is a let up.\u00a0 Those storms of life can be so long you can be unaware of their effect until they give you a break.\u00a0 I no longer believe being stressed is a fault, as stress in this life is inevitable, BUT I also no longer allow myself to define myself or limit myself based on life&#8217;s storms or stress.<\/p>\n<p>A couple weeks ago I got up early and had breakfast alone.\u00a0 It was so quiet I had time to collect my thoughts.\u00a0 It quickly occurred to me I had little\u00a0pain of heart\u00a0to push through to find my joy.\u00a0 I had\u00a0none of that stress that is\u00a0so\u00a0demanding that it can cloud all that is so continually beautiful about my life.\u00a0 I was experiencing a pause in the pain.\u00a0 With this break came a welcomed breeze of encouragement.<\/p>\n<p>Sorrow and\u00a0pain, can exist without defining me.\u00a0 I can be in a time\u00a0of stress and not be hopeless, or faithless, or joyless.\u00a0 All this and more I find myself able -in Christ alone-.\u00a0 I still don&#8217;t usually charge through the hurricanes of life but I find myself more and more able to slowly carry on, thank GOD!\u00a0 More and more that -still small voice- reminds me of truths that I can submit my emotions and my personality to.\u00a0 This submission and obedience to his\u00a0voice at\u00a0such a time is always\u00a0to my benefit.\u00a0 Holy Spirit is indeed our comforter if we will allow him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>&#8220;Come, Holy Spirit, Come&#8221;<br \/>\n<\/strong> by Joseph Hart, 1712-1768<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>1. Come, Holy Spirit, Come!<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Let Thy bright beams arise;<\/em><br \/>\n<em> Dispel the sorrow from our minds,<\/em><br \/>\n<em> The darkness from our eyes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>2.
