Master List Success

We left home with thrifting in mind.  If my youngest and I could just get the unpleasant errands completed post haste we would have a couple uninterrupted hours at the Salvation Army Thrift store.  Our goal was finding at least two puzzles, our haul at the end of it all was a whole lot more then that!

While we had a very short thrifters’ list that day, only jigsaw puzzles, I always have a master list on my mind.  The master list contains those bigger items that either you feel can wait or you have too wait for THE DEAL, even if it ends up being a great length of time… years perhaps.  Knocking off members of that list is a sweet sweet moment.

When I spotted the pretty white dresser for less than 20$ I knew I had finally completed a process that had taken years, racking down each child a sturdy but thrifty priced bureau!  I was hauling it out and in to the van right away, all on my own enthusiasm driven energy boost.

The lamp was a winner on three levels, one, I had a spot that required it, two, it was gold, and three, it had pineapple detail!!!  Need I say more?!

IMG_00000687There was a book I had been looking for, and a little jewellery box for my daughter… oh and two puzzles, of course.  I was a happy shopper!  That evening I found the top pictured shelving unit (shabby chic) on kijiji for under 25$ and managed to bring it home with out much fuss.  Fit right where I had hoped and has brightened a space!

Now to find so many deals is always grand, but to knock off three master list items in one healthy day of hunting is worth a little wooohooing!  My daughter sure thought so when I set up her dresser for her 🙂

  1. Munro, Robin says:

Isn’t if amazing how good a deal feels and to get three plus deals in one day is indeed a great event. Good for you! I like your patience in waiting for the right time and price to come instead of spending what you can not afford. Funny thing is I get more out of finding something like your dresser or bookshelf nice looking and used than buying new. Love MOM

  2. I hear you mom. I get much more enjoyment out of waiting and being rewarded with the affordable option! Learned from the best though!

Considerate and polite comments are always welcomed.
